New Designs - Autumn 2014

With a new season comes 3 exciting, new designs from Wallstudio. The simple way to transform any room in your home for a fresh, new feel as we head in to the cooler months.

These designs draw on everything that is great about this ancient civilisation's aesthetic - bold colour, geometric design and fabulous repetition. Available in 3 colour ways, Orange, Teal and Pink, the Aztec canvases make a bold statement as a single canvas, and offer that "wow factor" when hung in two. They will bring your house right up-to-trend and are sure to bring vibrancy to your space.

A design inspired by the reflections of colour on a gem, or the view through a kaleidoscope, Facet Love is another geometric delight. The sharp angular shapes are contrasted with muted pastels and dusky tones which lend themselves to this season's hot colours and interior trends perfectly. If you want to make a statement in your space, without going over-the-top, these canvases, available in 2 colour ways, are just for you!

As the name suggests, the Flower Bomb design is an explosion of colour sure to lift any interior! This dynamic canvas design is a wonderful mixture of bright colour and muddy tones that create a moody and interesting design. Add some vibrant life to your home with one-of-a-kind design.

These, and many more fabulous designer canvases are available at the Wallstudio website.

Pixelate Canvas Dining Room Inspiration

I [Amanda] absolutely love the new Pixelate canvas designs Janette has created. They are colourful, bold, fun and fresh. I felt inspired by the colours and the feel of this particular colour way and decided to make it the jumping-off point for creating an inspiration board for a vibrant dining room!

Taking my cue from the canvas, I have selected a mixture of objects that combine both formal and casual elements, a mixture of metals and a couple of shots of bright colour to bounce back the platte of the canvas.

I think the elements combine reinforce the idea of fun, bold and fresh and I know it is a space I would love to not only entertain in, but dine in every day!

New Design: Pixelate

Janette has been hard at work, again, creating a fabulous new design to the Wallstudio Abstract Collection. The new design is called Pixelate and is available in 3 colour ways. The design is made of of many squares of colour to give the impression of a pixelated image that has been zoomed too far in on. The abstract design allows the viewer's imagination to take over and the bold, bright colours are happy and work well with any contemporary space.

We hope you love the new Pixelate designs as much as we do!

New Designs

We are excited to announce there are two new designs that have just been added to our Abstract Collection!

The Galaxy Rider is fully of fantasy and wonder. It is available in a variety of colour ways, making it the perfect addition to just about any space be it a child's room, your studio, family room, bedroom or even your bathroom!

Driftaway combines rustic driftwood with on-trend geometrics that are almost tribal. The bright, almost neon, pastels are of the minute and add a fresh twist to the rustic background. There is a coastal feel to this piece yet it would be right at home in an inner city apartment too!

We love the new designs, both of which are available in the Wallstudio Shop.

Which is your favourite?

Introducing Amanda

Hi there! My name is Amanda and I am the newest member of the Wallstudio team! Janette has brought me on board to take care of the social media side of things for Wallstudio. That means I'll be on Facebook and Twitter and will be blogging here on the Wallstudio blog! I have been working behind the scenes for a couple of months now, and thought it was time I introduced myself!

Janette and I actually went to the same primary school and our Mothers worked together when we were younger. We reconnected in recent years when we both attended an ABCD Meet-up! It's such a small world!

I have studied a variety of areas of design including interior design, jewellery design, textile design and more and am a qualified Graphic Designer. I have been blogging since 2009 in various forms in the areas of design, lifestyle and wedding. Just 2 days ago a relaunched my own design and lifestyle blog Kaleidoscope which is the place for creative inspiration, DIY tutorials and exploring the many facets of design. I'd love you to stop by! I love social media, especially InstagramFacebook and Pinterest. You can follow me on most social media as @AmandaFuller if you are interested.

My being a member of the Wallstudio teams means that Janette has more time to be creative and run her business, while I take care of connecting her brand to all our lovely customers.

Feel free to say hello, and if there is anything you feel we can be doing better with our social media, please feel free to leave your suggestions!

Don't forget you can find Wallstudio in the following place: Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest and of course keep coming back to the blog for your Interior Design inspiration!

Designer Shaynna Blaze Loves Wallstudio

Here at Wallstudio we are big fans of Designer Shaynna Blaze. She is the designer on Selling Houses Australia and one of the judges on The Block. She has a great design sensibility and isn't afraid to say it like it is! She is known for turning frightful rooms into rooms that delight!

That said, you can imagine how excited we were to discover that Shaynna had included our Purple Pineapple canvas in her Update Your Home spread in this week's TV Week Magazine! It's rather a huge compliment to be included in a collection of items representing the "hottest interior looks"! How's that for a vote of confidence in our design!!

We have also had a lot of fun tweeting back and forth a little with Shaynna during The Block this season!

Thanks for the love Shaynna!

Art in the Kitchen

The kitchen isn't the first place most people think to put art, but as the kitchen is sure to be the heart of your home, why not try something new and add interest, personality and something unexpected by added a gorgeous piece of art to your kitchen walls?!

Art in the kitchen can work with many different styles of decorating - everything from super modern and sleek to ornate and traditional. Of course matching the subject, style and frames to the decor of your kitchen always works, but you can also mix and match styles for something unexpected!

Here are some wonderful examples of art in the kitchen we hope inspire you!

They're amazing aren't they?!

The range at Wallstudio offers some great options that would look just as dramatic and incredible on the walls of your kitchen. The echo reduction option could also help quieten the noise of all those pots and pans, so keep that in mind too!

Do you have art in your kitchen?

Decorating with Emerald - Pantone's Colour of 2013

Pantone is THE authority on colour. The Pantone System is the standardised colour mixing system across the globe whether it be for print, interiors or fashion. Each year Pantone choose a colour they feel will be big for that year. For 2013 they have chosen Emerald Green.

Lively. Radiant. Lush… Emerald is a colour of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony. It is the perfect colour for many different styles of decorating, from classic country manor to bold decorative mod style, Emerald is relevant to these and everything in between!

For a classic style, combine classic furniture, perhaps like this stunning emerald sofa, with rich colours such as other gem tones such as ruby, sapphire, topaz and onyx and a splash or bronze, copper or platinum. Mix it up with an unexpected contemporary art piece like wallstudio's Line Dye canvas in Teal. While not specifically emerald green, this canvass will tie in beautifully with the rich blue/green hues.

Think a little bit Hollywood, a little bit Manhattan chic Mad Men style for this sophisticated look. Lots of white and glass and metal tones with splashes of emerald and pops of pink. Pink and green are great friends after all! Our Pink Cockatoo canvas is the perfect addition to this scheme with it's minimal styling and unexpected mid-century, almost pop style design.

A rich, moody space can be created by using emerald en masse and pairing it with black and navy and a little white to break up the dark tones. Add in bold pattern like the Candy Stripes canvas in Navy and a little sparkle and you have a room that will feel cosy, enveloping and daring all at once!

Enhance your sense of well-being at home by rejuvenating the interior with Emerald paint, accents and accessories. This jewel-like hue will create a luxurious feel in an entryway, powder room, dining room or study, and bring life to a living room as an accent wall. Add a splash of color to the kitchen and dining room areas with Emerald dinnerware, stemware and appliances.
